Horse Riding:

Discovering Bohinj from a horseback is a special experience. Join us at cross-country riding, try to make a genuine connection with the horse and experience the beauty of Triglav National Park in all seasons.

Besides cross country riding the ranch also offers riding school, riding for beginners and advanced riders. The youngest riders are taken on a short walk accompanied by our guide (saddles with handles). An excellent opportunity for all who want to ride or have always had the desire to ride, but haven’t had the courage or opportunity to do so.

Our Offers

  • Family Riding

    Riding is a great idea for a family tour. Regardless of your level of experience with horseback riding, our team will prepare you well for a one- or two-hour tour.

  • Horse Handling

    Meeting the horse, preparing the horse for riding: the child learns how to prepare a horse, clean and saddle them.

  • Rides in Carriages and on a Cart

    We offer carriage rides for up to three persons. We take you to Lake Bohinj. You can also try to ride a hay cart for several persons and experience the rural life.

  • Sport Days

    Riding Iceland horses on Mrcina Ranch is an ideal way to spend a school sport day. Considering the peaceful character of horses, students can quickly go riding in nature in the company of experienced guides.

  • Events

    Summer nights are the time for “Štala” (Stable) at Mrcina Ranch. The relaxed and authentic venue hosts top Slovenian mountaineers, travellers, musicians and theatre shows.

  • Winter

    The ranch is open all year round, so you can ride any time. In winter (if the conditions are favourable), we can spice up our offer with a horse-driven cart and an adrenaline attraction called skijoring, where a person on skis is pulled by a horse.
